Yazoul Ghasabdouma, Male Ratfolk Invoker Witch - Captain
The Man's Promise's unlikely captain, a creepy and decrepit old ratfolk from Qadira. He carries a large rat which he claims is his grandmother. He dresses in rags and a horrible bone mask, and likes to smoke through the hole in his throat. Not well liked by the crew, but is somewhat feared.
Shivikah, Female Human - Quartermaster
A Mwangi woman of the mysterious Bekyar, very tall for a human. A former slaver, she has a menacing demeanour and dispassionate eyes, but she takes her honour very seriously. Owes the party a life debt after they saved her from drowning. Not inclined to make friends, but is respected. Across her back she has an intricate web of precise scars which contrast with the rough brand on her left buttock.
Micca, Female Half-Giant Monk - Sailing Master
A reserved woman from the far north, a martial artist and survivalist. Most of the crew respects her highly for her prowess and positive demeanour.
Zubiya of the Hazrah, Female Human - Masters' Mate
Rahadoumi, the former first officer of the Man's Promise. Begged Yazoul to take her on. Has done everything asked of her with an enthusiastic smile. Despite her seeming candor, she never actually reveals any personal details. Highly disliked by the crew.
Varr Saela, Male Human Barbarian - Master at Arms
A new recruit, a mysterious man from the north. Prefers to go by 'Saela'. Carries all of his belongings in a large, heavy, locked chest for some reason.
Crimson "Cog" Cogsward, Male Human - Gunner's Mate
A Varisian man who is rather cocksure and violent. Drawn to dangerous women, he has pestered Shivikah. He wears a blue bandana and has a spiraling comet symbol over his chest, which he always keeps shaved.
Owlbear, Male Half-Giant - Gunner's Mate
A gentle and simpleminded man from a small volcanic island somewhere in the Shackles. Is nervously adjusting to life beyond slavery, and greatly enjoys being on deck. The crew ignore him, so his only real friend so far is Micca.
"Barefoot" Samms Toppin, Female Human - Boatswain
The senior rigger. As cheerful as you can expect a fisherwoman from the Sodden Lands to be. Never wears shoes. As bosun she is fair but not strict, so she is well liked but discipline may suffer. Thinks Ruuk is funny. She has spiders on her ankles, ropes around her legs, and a circle of clouds on her shoulder.
Sandara Quinn, Female Human Cleric of Besmara - Chaplain
A vivacious and cheerful Wife of Besmara. Swore herself to the goddess in exchange for bringing her father home safely from sea. Unusually clean and energetic, as she is fairly new to the Freebooter life. She wears a tricorne and gold hoop earrings, and her holy symbol is a scrimshaw skull on a chain around her neck. She has a skull and bones, a compass, and a tropical island on her right arm, a nautilus shell, cloudy skies, and a sea serpent on her left. She has the word FOREVER written across her belly.
Habbly "Stitchman" Quarne, Male Human - Surgeon
A bitter, scowling old surgeon from Taldan. Seems to have nothing but contempt for every soul aboard the ship, yet he keeps them alive with a tired sigh. Likes to drink Taldan Firebrandy, and is annoyed at the rumour that he is fond of Alómea. He has a skull over his heart, roses across his belly, a long poetic passage in Varisian across his back, two sparrows and a heart on his left arm with a faded, unreadable name, a whale, diamond, and hand holding a broken arrow on his right arm, a twisting snake on his right leg, and a two-masted ship on his left thigh.
Aloméia Ilcalannar, Female Siren Gravewalker Witch - Surgeon's Mate
A mysterious siren who seeks the man who stole her voice. She may be mistaken for a sea elf, except for her aura of disturbing beauty. Has an affinity for death and remains, and carries a bone poppet. The crew considers her rather personable, but many privately shun her as a witch and monster.
Tam "Narwhal" Tate, Male Dwarf - Carpenter
An Mbe'ke dwarf with a large, ugly nose. Completely useless as a carpenter, but does his best for an extra share. Unfriendly, but respects good business partners. Has a skull and piled coins tattooed on his back, as well as a grid of 25 Dwarvish runes on his left arm.
Ambrose "Fishguts" Kroop, Male Human - Cook
A depressed, drunken old Master Mariner. Knows half-remembered lore on every aspect of the Shackles. The party's recent mutiny has reinvigorated him, and he only spends half as much time drunk. During his drunken ramblings he has mentioned a wife. Loves chickens. He has a cracked skull and a rum bottle bound with rope on his chest, Besmara's ship the Seawrath on his belly, a pig on his right leg and a chicken on his left, and across his back are countless severe scars which mar the faded images: a chubby nude woman and a rooster raising its wings like fists.
"Caulky" Tarroon, Female Human - Cabin Girl
A Chelish child with dark hair and gold hoop earrings. She wears an eyepatch and has a moderate scar due to wood shrapnel. Quiet and observant, she is quite capable despite her young age. Fond of rum and tobacco. She has mirrored nautical stars beneath each collarbone, a silhouette of a dead tree on her back, and a knife on her forearm.
Maheem, Male Human - Rigger (Senior)
A tall Rahadoumi man. Once he had a permanent scowl, but having left the Wormwood he has relaxed a bit. Respects Micca. He has the Laws of Mortality tattooed on his back.
Rukk, Male Tengu Swordmaster Rogue - Rigger (Spymaster)
A skittish Tengu rigger constantly looking for shinies. Unusally, he has blue plumage as well as black. Carries a rare Elven Curveblade. Well liked by most of the crew as a hard worker and good luck charm, but disdained by rougher personalities.
"Badger" Medlar, Female Half-Elf - Rigger
A half-elf woman. Middle-aged, shaves her grey hair into stripes. Unfriendly, but works hard and has respect for Micca. She has a sickle and grain on her chest, two daggers on her belly, and an upside down crown on her right arm.
Jack Scrimshaw, Male Human - Swab
A bright-eyed young human man. Not as tough as most freebooters, but works hard and maintains a positive attitude. Talented at the art of scrimshaw, carving sculptures from bone. Likes Aloméia. He has a skull and bones on his right arm and a coiled rope around each wrist.
Rosie Cusswell, Female Halfling - Swab
A young, foul-mouthed female halfling with many nicks and scars. Obsessed with her fiddle, and is grateful to Aloméia for helping retrieving it. Has a sparrow bearing a banner which reads MAMA on her arm.
Conchobar Turlach Shortstone, Male Gnome - Swab
A very foppish gnome man with a jaunty hat. A landsman who only recently took to the sea. Very social, he is friendly with most everyone on the ship. He has dice over his heart, a rose with thorns on his left arm, and a portrait of Calistria on his right.
Alabaster Johannen, Male Human Kensai Magus/Free Hand Fighter
A well-spoken Chelaxian lawyer who wears a superfluous eyepatch. The penniless stranger was picked up in a quiet taproom and quickly hit it off with Captain Yazoul.
